Superscope PSD CD Recording System: Tutorial

- " Live" Music Recording
- Band-In-A-Box Recording mixed with a "live" recording
- Variable pitch/tempo playback demonstrations
- Burning CD's with optional playback changes to tempo and pitch
Pre-Set Before any Recording:
- Analog switch is on
- Set Mic switch from line or mic
- Speakers Off
- Phone/speaker Level Off
- Internal mike, or external microphone set
- ALC microphone control off
- Mic line set up full power
- Set Phone Selector to Line Out for just about all applications
- Hit the stop button in the CDW module to activate that module.
- Hit red Record button.
- Hit the Rec Mode button on left top panel
- Turn flywheel to obtain Record
- Push wheel to activate that recording mode.
- Push the "Rec" Key on the CDW panel to start recording.
- When done recording, hit the "Stop" button. Then hit "Finalize"
button.
To Mix for Band-In-A-Box Applications and "Live"
Soloists(s)
To set Mic/One Stereo to Mix so both microphone and AUX imput
from notebook are both in stereo.
- Set the Phone Selector to "AUX."
- Need to get two stereo Y adapter to plug in two headphones or go out the
Line Out to a mixer and plug in the second headset on monitor recording.
- Be sure to adjust the Line Out volume knob for correct headphone volume.
To Do a "Live" Group recording and Burn CD's ASAP
- Set recording mode on the fly wheel to 2X copy and Finalize when recording
the original group and ready for a fast duplication of a backup CD.
To Duplicate a CD
Necessary Steps:
- Put original CD in playback tray
- Put blank CD in CDW tray
- Set recording mode on fly wheel to 2X copy with Finalization.
- It takes 5 minutes to duplicate a 10 minute CD and 2:10 minutes to finalize
it.
Variable Speed/Pitch Demonstration
Necessary Steps:
- Put CD to be demonstrated in Playback tray
- Find the track that you want to demonstrate by moving the fly wheel to
that track.
- Select playback button to play it.
- Keep your finger on the key (b or #) and tempo (- or +)
- Hit the A-B Looping button to begin the actual loop
- Hit the A-B looping button again to finalize the end of the actual loop.
- Hit the playback button and it will be repeated forever.
- To cancel Looping, hit the Repeat button.
- Instrumental part might handle a 33% reduction without excessive distortion,
but a piano may only handle 25%
To Burn a CD from the Original with Pitch and/or Tempo Changes
Necessary Steps:
- Find the Track on the Original recording with the fly wheel
- Then Hit the Program button and find that track with the flywheel . Hit
it twice. The first time to initiate the track as the
- Designated one to be recorded and then a second time to exit the Program
selecting Mode.
- Go to the recording mode as already described:
- Hit red Record button.
- Hit the Rec Mode button on left top panel
- Turn wheel to obtain Record
- Push wheel to activate that recording mode.
- Push the Rec Key on the CDW panel to start recording.
- When selecting the Recording MODE on the flywheel, select 2X COPY and Finalize
so everything gets done immediately.
