7th Grade Scale for Typing Proficiency

The following grading system reflects accuracy and speed in the computation of your typing proficiency. Beginning on the fourth week of the semester, "All The Right Typing" software tests will be implemented with weekly tests every Friday till the end of the semester. The goal is to encourage students to test their typing competency by earning 95% accuracy at 20 words per minute or type faster than one can neatly handwrite which is normally 8 or 9 words per minute. The goal is to be able to type faster than you write by hand. This grading formula is based on the number of words per minute you type minus the number of errors. Try to type reasonably fast, but not recklessly for mistakes will definitely lower ones grade. Good luck!

Note: Dr. Data does reward excellence with even higher scores on typing tests based on faster typing speeds. So daily practice at home can have significant impact on ones typing tests scores. For example, 50 w.p.m. with zero mistakes has a 190 score. 55 w.p.m. has a 200 point score. 60 w.p.m. has a 210 point score and so forth. And all on a 100 point test!
