Dear Carmody Middle School Elective 7th and 8th Grade Parents and Students:

      1. Dr. Data is back, beginning Monday, May 14, 2007. The only day that he will be absent will be for jury duty on Tuesday, May 15th. And I will return to school after jury duty to update grades before supper that same day!
      2. The Carmody Parent Portal covering everything through Friday, May 11, 2007 is up at:  https://campus.jeffco.k12.co.us/campus/portal/jeffco_IC.jsp Note: there are many missing grades resulting in much lower grades.  The substitute teacher write me a note on Friday concerning why there are many missing assignments.

"To sum up the last two weeks, I would say that many of the students acted as if they were on vacation!"

      3. If students are not saving their daily work on their school folder, no credit will be granted for any missing work.  Dr. Data will make every effort to have students show me their missing work on the school server so grades are updated accurately and quickly because progress reports are coming the week probably on Wednesday or Thursday of this coming week.  So students still have sufficient time to resubmit everything missing to obtain the grade of their choice before the end of the semester.
      4. Don't hesitate to have your child makeup missing assignments at home 24/7 with the Internet. The curriculum assignments can be accessed, printed and done at home if you have access to a computer with the Internet by going to:

Word Processing :  http://www.kuzmich.com/carmody/claris_syllabus.html during the fourth grading period.

Database: http://www.kuzmich.com/carmody/database_syllabus.html#Management during fifth grading period.

      Spreadsheets : http://www.kuzmich.com/carmody/spreadsheet_syllabus.html#Required until May 2nd.

Internet Search Engines: http://www.kuzmich.com/carmody/internet_syllabus.html#Assignments from May 3 to May 11th

      PowerPoint: http://www.kuzmich.com/carmody/powerpoint_syllabus.html#Assignments from May 14th

Final Two Weeks: http://www.kuzmich.com/carmody/Final_Two_Weeks_Syllabus.html during the last two weeks of school.

Hope the Carmody Portal is indeed helpful in keeping students on task for there are some students who are submitting their daily assignments on time and some who have not at all. I will continue to be updating the Carmody Portal daily now that I'm back beginning Monday, May 14, 2007.

      Till next time,

      Dr. Data
      Carmody Middle School
