Much
progress is being made in the Carmody Middle School
PC Computer lab. Every Pentium II computer has
been has its RAM doubled. Most workstations are
running with 128 MB RAM. Last spring, an HP IIIsi
networking laser printer was donated. Now we can
print faster and at a much cheaper cost per page than
previously when we had ink jet printers. The value
of this printer when new was at $7,000.
One of our 8th students, Travis E____ has been assisting
Dr. Data in upgrading the RAM in the PC Lab. He
stays daily after school daily and provides both hardware
and technical assistance. His efforts are very
much appreciated.
Ms. Kathy Hughes, Carmody math teacher is now using
the PC Lab after school teaching an Intel/Microsoft
in-service class for 20 Jeffco in-service instruction.

Carmody's
"Whiz Chips"
ComputerClub!
Carmody's
official computer club, the "Whiz Chips,," is doing
great! We have nearly 30 members learning
to construct computer games with Klick & Play
software. The eight grade members are
teaching the new members. Second semester,
the "Whiz Chips" Club will sponsor a computer games
contest. The manufacturer is allowing all
"Whiz Chips" club members to download their software
for free!
